About the Role
At Pradako Mechanical & Engineering Works, our operations rely on the precise and timely import of critical machinery, tooling, and raw materials from global suppliers. We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Import Documentation Executive to manage all import-related formalities, compliance, and coordination.
This role ensures the smooth inbound flow of machines and tooling like punches, threading & trimming dies, bolt former parts, and RM wire, critical to our fastener production operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
Import Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare, verify, and manage all import-related documents including purchase orders, invoices, packing lists, air/sea waybills, technical catalogues, and shipping instructions including duty drawback.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and port authorities for timely clearance of shipments.
- Ensure compliance with DGFT guidelines, BIS/ISI certifications (if applicable), customs notifications, and Import Policy norms.
- Monitor and process BOE (Bill of Entry), assess applicable duties (BCD, IGST, CESS), and maintain accurate HS code classification of all imported goods.
Product Focus – Machinery & Tooling
- Handle documentation and clearances for the import of:
- Primary and secondary punches
- Thread rolling and trimming dies
- Bolt former fingers and wear parts
- Fastener manufacturing machinery & upgrades
- Raw Material wire coils (Steel, Alloy grades)
- Ensure import documentation matches the specific technical requirements and configuration of tooling/machinery.
Coordination & Vendor Communication
- Liaise with overseas machinery/tooling suppliers for documentation accuracy, dispatch schedules, and pre-shipment inspection (if required).
- Coordinate with internal teams (Tool Room, Production, Stores) to schedule incoming shipments and update expected delivery timelines.
