Role Overview

At Pradako Mechanical & Engineering Works, the heart of quality and precision lies in our tooling. We are seeking experienced Tool Room Technicians and Engineers who specialize in cold forging dies, punches, trimming tools, threading dies, and forming fingers. This role is critical to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality production with optimal tool life, accuracy, and maintenance planning.

Key Responsibilities
Tool Preparation & Maintenance
  • Manufacture, regrind, and assemble tooling such as:
  • First Punches
  • Dies (Trimming, Threading, Extrusion)
  • HEADERS/BOLT/NUT Former Fingers
  • Rolling & Slotting Tools
Tool Reconditioning & Inventory
  • Rework damaged tools with precision and ensure quick turnaround for production.
  • Maintain records of tool life, tool change frequencies, and preventive sharpening schedules.
  • Maintain tool room inventory – categorize and organize tools for reusability, discard, and rework.
Machinery Operation & Technical Skills
  • Operate toolroom machines such as:
  • Surface Grinders
  • Tool & Cutter Grinders
  • Lathes, Milling Machines
  • Read and interpret tool drawings and tolerances.
Process Coordination
  • Coordinate closely with production, maintenance, and QC teams for tool performance feedback.
  • Support new part development and tool trials with the design and development team.
  • Ensure readiness of tooling based on production schedules and material plans.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Update tool change logs, damage reports, and usage sheets.
  • Prepare basic MIS or tool usage dashboards (manual or system-based).
Preferred Skills
  • Strong understanding of cold forming/tooling fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with fastener dimensions and tolerances (DIN, ISO standards).
  • Basic computer knowledge for logging and report entry.
  • High attention to detail and precision machining discipline.
