Role Overview
At Pradako Mechanical & Engineering Works, our vendor partners play a vital role in delivering consistent quality, timely supply, and process innovation. We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Vendor Development Executive / Engineer to identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for raw materials, tools, consumables, and outsourced processes.
This role is critical in strengthening our supply chain, improving cost competitiveness, and ensuring quality compliance across all sourced components and services.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Identification & Evaluation
- Source and identify potential suppliers for raw materials (wires, rods), tooling (punches, dies), packaging, plating, and subcontracting services.
- Evaluate supplier capability in terms of capacity, quality systems, delivery performance, and pricing.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments based on ISO/IATF standards.
Development & Onboarding
- Initiate RFQs, cost comparisons, sample approvals, and supplier registration.
- Work with Quality and Design teams for sample development, approvals, and PPAP sign-offs.
- Maintain approved vendor lists (AVL) and update vendor ratings quarterly based on performance.
Relationship & Performance Management
- Build strong relationships with key suppliers for long-term collaboration.
- Monitor supplier KPIs such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), rejection rates, and responsiveness.
- Resolve disputes, coordinate reworks, and drive cost reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with the Purchase, Quality, Stores, and PPC teams to forecast material requirements and plan sourcing accordingly.
- Collaborate with R&D for NPD (New Product Development) sourcing and vendor trials.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain all vendor records including certifications, price agreements, technical documents, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and customer-specific procurement norms.
Preferred Skills
- Sound technical understanding of fasteners and their manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of procurement lifecycle, negotiation tactics, and cost breakdown analysis.
- Familiarity with vendor audit protocols and ISO/IATF requirements.
- ERP knowledge (purchase module), strong communication, and vendor follow-up capabilities.
